Exploring Blogs
We are learning to create a positive digital footprint.
We often share personal information when we are online. The people we share with could be our friends and family or people we don't know. We need to make smart decisions about what personal information we share online.
Mindset
During power time we have been learning about growth mindset. We watched a short video about luke skywalker and yoda lifting an X-wing out of the lake. Luke had fixed mindset. A fixed mindset is when you cant do something you say I can't do this and it is to hard. Yoda taught him how to have a growth mindset. A growth mindset is when you say I can do it.

Weather
WALT: we are learning to write a Information Report with the correct stucture and language features.
We are beginning learning about weather features. This week we are writing an Information Report about weather. This is my Information report about weather.
Weather features
“OMG it is hot today...can you feel the heat of the sun”.
Weather is the current atmosphere that we experience. It changes minute to minute.
Right now out there is amazing sun outside the wind is really warm the sky is bright blue and a couple of clouds I can feel the sun heat.
In New Zealand we don’t get much snow but we get hail and in the winter we get sleet and a little bit of snow.
Tornadoes, blizzards, hurricanes and cyclones are really dangerous and extremely powerful they can blow down houses and trees down and after it is all finished everything will be destroyed.
Sometimes in New Zealand there are thunder and lightning they look really cool in the sky but they are really dangerous and scary for other people.
There is nothing better than sitting inside a warm house next to the fire looking at the rain and storms. I like a good storm.

A day in a life of a penguin
After learning about Penguins in Antarctica I wrote a story about what life would be like as a Penguin.
Penguin Story
Penguins are flightless birds. They live in the Southern Hemisphere.
Penguins get very nervous if you get within 3 metres. Emperor Penguins live for about 20years, weight about 23kg and are 1.2m tall.Little penguins live up to 6 years, they weigh about 1.5 kg and are about 30 - 33 cm Birds have wings to fly but penguins have flippers to help them swim in water really fast.
Penguins can swim and go under water for 20 minutes.
The mothers and fathers penguins catch food like fish for them and their babies.
Sometimes the babies mothers don't come back because they have been eaten by whales and their enemies
When adelie penguins are on their nest sometimes for days at a time, they do not eat, instead they live of the fat layers that have formed from lots of previous eating.Penguins eat seafood, fish, squid and krill. Penguins are carnivores they feed on fish, squid, crabs, krill and other seafood they catch while swimming. Penguins swim 22 miles per hour in the water they run really powerful.

The next day we painted the penguin yellow and while the people were painting the other people could colour in another penguin. These are my drawings and my painting.

Description Of Antarctica
WOW!!! Look at them animals they are so amazing and cute. Look at those seals and penguins. The penguins have a fish in their mouth, they ate it in one bite.
The penguins must be really warm because their feathers are so warm. Antarctica is the whitest continent on earth, It is really cold there right now.
The water in Antarctica will be really freezing because the ice is really cold and the ice is on top of the water also some of the ice is under the water that makes it really cold. When you are in Antarctica you need really warm gear to make you warm so you don't freeze. Their is a desert because it is very dry. The temperture at the south pole is 12.3 °C (9.9 °F) and in Peninsula the temperature is 15 °C (59 °F) also in the summer it is
Antarctica is an awesome place to visit when i’m older.
