PE - Gymnastics

In PE for the last 2 weeks we have been doing gymnastics and learning some gymnastic basics. The first day of gymnastics we watched some videos of people doing really cool gymnastics and videos of people doing gymnastics and injuring themselves to show that gymnastics is dangerous and you need to take it seriously. After that we went into the gym to do some exercises and stretches before we got into doing gymnastics.

The first thing I saw when I walked into the gym I saw the trampoline so I went straight to it and was the first one on it. I like the gymnastic trampolines because they are bigger and way bouncer. After that I went to the bar and stuff on there that we got told. Then I went onto the beam and did some stuff on that, that we had to do.

The next day when we did PE there was a mini tramp right next to the big mats so I went there just to play around and jump on people off from the mini tramp. Next I went to the funnest thing in the gym with was the trampoline and on a peice of paper it had things to do on the tramp. Then I went to the bar and did some things on that, then I went onto the beam and did some jumps over the cone and it was quiet hard.

Here is the photo of the peice of paper with all of the things we had to do on the trampoline.

Here is a photo of the trampoline.

Home Economics - Steak Sandwiches

This week in HE we made steak sandwiches and they were way better and delicious than I thought they would be like. First when we got into the kitchen we got our aprons on, washed our hands and washed our table ready to cook. After that we got our recipe and looked at it. Then we got our mese on play ready and if you don't know what that is it is where we have to get our ingredients ready on our table for the lesson. After that we started cooking.

Ingredients:
- Lettuce
- Steak
- Cheese
- Tomato
- 3 bread buns
- Mayo
- Tomato sauce
- Seasoning

Here is a photo of the recipe for the steak sandwiches.

Here is a photo of our ingredients.

Here are a couple of photos of the steak cooking.

Skills learnt: How to cook stripes of steak

Sensory Evaluation: The steak sandwiches tasted really good because the steak was seasoned almost perfectly and the steak wasn't chewy. It looked like a steak sandwich but in a bread roll not in pieces of bread. The smell was amazing because the steak was seasoned good which maked it smelt better.

Rate the food: 9/10

Could do differently: What we could of did differently was to make sure the whole team was there because one of my teammates was there for about 20 minutes and then he went to sport photos and the other two people were at the sport photos for the whole lesson until the end.

How did the team work together: The team worked badly because Tobey and I was the only one in the team for about 20 minutes but the steak sandwich's turned out better than they would if the team was there.

Sorry I forgot to take the photos of the finished product, I am really bad at taking photos because when I am doing something that I like I forget to take photos.

Business Studies - Budgeting language dictionary

In Business studies we are learning about budgeting and what it is. When we first learnt about it we had to do a couple of activitys about what is budgeting and now we are doing this blog post for out report for business studies. For this blog post we have to chose 1 activity out of 2 of them and I chose the second one because it is much easier. The activity I chose was you have to make a budgeting language dictionary explaining what each term is and how it relates to budgeting.

Here is my budgeting language dictionary.

Budget - Budget is where you have money available to spend. If you dont have a limit its important because it helps you limit your odds of going into a deficit.

Spend - Spend is where you buy something using money for example you have to give money to pay for goods or services otherwise you don't get it. If you want a house, a car or something you have to give the money to the owner to be able to purchase it.

Savings - Savings it where you have extra money that you haven't spent yet, If you have spend the money you have for your budget it is always good to have saving because then you can use it.

Price - Price is the amount of money expected to be given to the owner that is selling the product or something else that has a price on it.

Needs - Needs is something that is essential to your life for example you need education to get somewhere in life you may not want it but you really need it in the real world, you need to be good at maths, spelling reading and the essential things you need to know.

I think I did quiet good because I wrote heaps of information to help people understand what each word meant. I got some of this information from dictionary.com for reference and then I put it into my own words.

Science - Mixture and Dissolving experiment

Today in science we did an experiment to see how long it takes for something to desolve in water. First when we got into the science class we did a pre-test on quizlet about mixing and separating for our experiment that we did afterwards. When we started the experiment this is what we had to do.

First we got the equipment ready before we did the experiment.

Equipment:
- A big beaker
- Spatula
- Sugar
- Water

Aim: To find out how long it takes for the sugar to desolve in different situations

Then we did the experiment.

This experiment has four parts to it so you can test the speed that it takes to dissolve and to see the dissolving rate.

Method:
1. Put 50mls of cold water into the big beaker and put one spatula of sugar into the beaker and start a timer and stir consistently until the sugar dissolves

2. Put 50mls of hot water into the big beaker and put one spatula of sugar into the beaker and start a timer and stir consistently until the sugar dissolves

3. Put 50mls of cold water into the big beaker and put one spatula of sugar into the beaker and start a timer then wait until it dissolves (DO NOT STIR)

4. Put 50mls of hot water into the big beaker and put one spatula of sugar into the beaker and start a timer then wait until it dissolves (DO NOT STIR)

Results: These times are the total and average times for all the groups in our class.

1. Total: 274sec Average: 54sec
2. Total: 119sec Average: 29.75sec
3. Total: 381sec Average: 76.2sec
4. Total: 819sec Average: 163.8sec

Our results:

1. For the first experiment we got 59sec
2. For the second experiment we got 25sec
3. For the third experiment we got 90sec
4. For the fourth experiment we got 360sec

Discussion:

Our results made sense because the one that was the fastest combined two things that speed up the time of dissolving. This is because when you add heat and stir it add speed to the matter and it starts to dissolve.

The results also show that the one with nothing that affects the time it takes to dissolve will end up as the slowest.

We started with sugar and water and at the end we ended up with sugarwater

Here are the photos of the equipment we used.

Sorry I didn't take any photos when we were doing the experiment it was because we were having to much fun doing the experiment so we forgot.
