Christmas Around The World

we are learning about christmas traditions around the world.

Today I learned that in Italy people eat and drink very little on Christmas day because this is a special day of prayer. I also learnt that in France that the children leave their shoes in front of the fire on Christmas eve and when they wake up in the morning, they find them full of Present from father Christmas. In Sweden Christmas eve is knowed as julafton. This is a day for Parties, eating and drinking and present giving. In poland people call Christmas eve the 'Fesival of the star'. and often they dont eat anything until it gets dark and the first star appears. Duch people celebrate on St. Nicholas day 6th December and St Nicholas arrives on the last Saturday in November, riding a white horse.

Today I learnt that people in Britain put out plum pudding.

Can you tell me about some other Christmas traditions from around the world?
