Hurumanu - Decomposing and Recycling

Aim: To learn about the rate that different materials decompose. 

Hypothesis: I think the banana is going to rot first because it is lighter and weak than the paper and the stryophone. I also think the banana and the bread is going to change colour because 1 the banana is smaller and softer and 2 the bread is going to change colour to brown because my brain says so.

Materials:

1.   4 test tubes
2.   1 test tube rack
3.   A strip of Bread
4.   Water
5.   A strip of paper
6.   2 pieces or more of Banana
7.   A strip of Styrophone

Steps:

1.   Get the equipment you need for the experiment above
2.   In 1st test tube put the banana inside. Im only using 2 pieces 
3.   In the 2nd test tube put the strip of paper inside
4.   In the 3rd test tube put the styrophone strip inside
5.   In the 4th test tube put the strip of bread inside

Banana	Yellow	Yellow & Orange	I has changed colour by a bit, it looks like yellow and orange at the top. It smells like a garbage bin and compose
Paper	Brown	None	It has stayed brown like it was at the start
Styrophone cup	White	None	It has stayed white like it was at the start
Bread	White	White & Green & brown	It has gone moldy and it looks just like fluff, and it smells like dust
