In Maori we have been learning about how to make a hangi. A hangi is food cooked under the ground. First you need to dig a hole big enough to put you food under. Then you need to make a fire at the bottom of the the pit then add the rocks on top and rest until rocks are white. After that place food in the pit meat goes on bottom and vegetables on top because meat needs to cook longer. Then cover the food with wet white sheets and dirt after 3 hours uncover the hangi and remove the food. After that eat and enjoy :)
